Finding a student job in the Netherlands doesn't have to be challenging.

Though lots of fun, living in the Netherlands isn't cheap. We'd like to help you find a student job so you can earn some extra cash.
Working in the Netherlands
Are you an international student who wants to work during your time in the Netherlands to gain international work experience while also covering your costs?

Great! Of course this is possible, but you may be unsure of where to start.

There are plenty of opportunities out there for you, from student work to post-graduation jobs. Student Mobility would like to walk you through some practical matters to ensure that you find the right international student job.
Permits & Insurances
Various permits and insurances are necessary to work in the Netherlands. Depending on the person, figuring out which one you need can be a complex matter. As an international student, you may need to compile the following:
  • Basic Dutch health insurance
  • Citizen service number (in Dutch: Burgerservicenummer, BSN)
  • Work permit (EU/EEA or non-EU/EEA))
We created an International student job framework.
Using this framework, you can easily check which work specificities apply to you and which do not.
