4 + 1 outdoor activities not to miss this spring 

As days are getting longer and warmer, Rotterdam comes alive and offer a diverse range of spring activities outside to get the first glimpse of sunshine. From blooming gardens to outdoor adventures, the city offers so many opportunities to celebrate the arrival of spring. So, pack your picnic basket, get on your bicycle, and get ready to embark on an unforgettable springtime adventure in the city.  

1. Kralingse Bos 

Escape the city and immerse yourself in nature at Kralingse Bos, Rotterdam's largest urban park. Take a walk, cycle or jog along the lakeside paths, or you can rent a paddleboat or kayak and glide across the waters of Lake Kralingen (Kralingse Plas). With its expansive lawns, picnic areas, and beach volleyball court, Kralingse Bos is the perfect spot for a relaxing spring day outdoors. 

2. Rotterdam Zoo (Diergaarde Blijdorp)

3. Midget Golfbaan Parkhaven 

Try your mini golf skills at in the heart of the city at Parkhaven. Put your putting skills to the test as you navigate through the 18-hole course filled with challenging obstacles. The place also offers a restaurant with stunning views of the Maas, and it is located at Het Park, so after your game head for a walk to discover the blooming beauty of the surrounding area. 

4. Trompenburg Arboretum 

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature at Trompenburg Arboretum. Discover a diverse collection of trees, flowers, and plants from around the world as you wander through the peaceful gardens. Admire the colorful blooms of springtime, discover the Desert Greenhouse and the teahouse, or choose from a wide array of activities including markets, guided walks, and workshops. 

+1: Kinderdijk

Just outside the borders of the city, lays Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its historic windmills and picturesque landscape. Built in the 18th century, these windmills stand as symbols of Dutch innovation in water management.
